Labuschagne Dropped from Australian One-Day International Squad Versus Team India
Marnus Labuschagne has been dropped from Australia's three-game ODI series facing India, with in-form Queensland teammate Matt Renshaw earning a unexpected selection.
Performance Issues Lead to Exclusion
Selectors dropped Labuschagne from the one-day international side after being dismissed for one in his two batting efforts during the top-end series against South Africa in August. He has a best innings of forty-seven in his previous ten ODI batting appearances.
The batsman has played 68 one-day internationals and accumulated 1,871 runs at an average of 34.64, but will now focus on earning a return to the Test side ahead of the Ashes starting in Perth on 21 November.
Renshaw's Return and Other Squad Changes
Recent performances suggest of a resurgence with a score of 160 for Queensland in the Sheffield Shield this week, while Renshaw also hit a hundred for the Bulls in the identical match against Tasmania.

“We have named a squad for the ODI series and initial two matches of the T20 series as there will be rotation through the later stages of the series as players get ready for the summer through Sheffield Shield cricket,” selection chief George Bailey said.
“The bulk of the T20 squad will remain together as it’s an crucial phase in the preparation for the World Cup next year, however we are trying to strike a balance to ensure we simultaneously get ready specific players for the Test series ahead.”
Australia’s three-match ODI series against India starts on October 19 in Perth, before the opponents play five T20s from 29 October.
